That's 27 inches!

We took Britt to the doctor on Thursday. He's actually 27 inches! He's 99th percentile for height and 65th for weight. Love that baby. He got some shots and he didn't cry at all. Just a whimper on the one that stings.

Britt rolled over today

Britt officially rolled over front to back today! So proud!

Britt is four-months-old!

Britt's picture UK onesie had some sort of mishap last month, so it has an unfortunate rip in it. We decided to dig one up from the Eliza Smith collection, but it's a size 24 months. I guess it'll do. He's such a cute, even in the baggy shirt.

First bites!

Britt has started eating food! We gave him some rice cereal last weekend because he had been imitating us chewing and seemed really interested in watching us eat, so we decided it was time to give it a shot. Here's how it went:

Our new concept for our monthly growth photos includes monthly stats! Also, Britt will be wearing this onesie in every picture this year as an homage to our National Champion Kentucky Wildcats. Hey, the kid was born on the first day of the tournament. Also, it's going to be hilarious when it only fits one of his little thighs.

Our little big boy has had a HUGE month. He's grown from 8.6 lbs. at his last doctor's appointment to 11 lbs. He's grown from 21 inches to 22.5 inches. He holds his head up great and he's learning to smile. The kid's an eater, but he's also a Smith, so that's a big surprise. =)

He has good nights and bad nights when it comes to sleeping. He's slept as long as 6 hour stretches and as few as 2. Eliza slept through the night at 5 weeks, so we're cautiously optimistic that maybe he's on his way to sleeping through the night. 

Such a fun month.

Britt's Progress

Our big boy has made a lot of progress. He raises his head up to look around, if you put him on his belly, he tries to push with his feet, and he started smiling with purpose before he was even two weeks old. What a kid!

We love our little blonde baby. He may have golden hair, but he's really started to look like Daddy in the face.

He was sleeping well and letting his get 4 solid hours at night. Unfortunately, he's picked up a bit of nasal congestion that's made him very, very fussy lately. We've had a few bumpy nights.

After a big Easter Sunday including church and an egg hunt, Britt got his first real bath last night.

Janie is getting her epidural in the OR as we speak. Will keep you posted on how this goes.

Human pincushion.

So far, we have had three IV attempts and we may have finally gotten it in. Had to break out the ultrasound to find a vein in the first place.

Still no word on when we're actually having this kid.

Britt's Blog

Here's where the story begins. Three and a half years ago, we welcomed our baby daughter Eliza Jane with a blog. Now we're counting down the hours 'til we welcome our son, Britt Harrison. We've had some complications so we're very nervous.

We were hoping that the placenta previa we were faced with a couple of weeks ago would clear so we could attempt a trial of labor. Sadly, it actually looks worse than it did at our last scan. It's probably not actually worse, but it certainly didn't clear enough for Britt to come out the right exit.

So, here we are. Tomorrow is the big day.
